Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been reacting after it was reported that Spurs’ players are buzzing with Antonio Conte’s request for Ryan Mason to be added to the first-team coaching staff.
Mason is seemingly a popular figure at Spurs. The players seemed to take to him last season during his spell as the caretaker manager and he’s actually a former teammate of a few of the players.
As you can imagine, fans were happy to hear that Conte’s decision has gone down well with the players.
As ever, a happy squad is key to any success at a football club, and it seems as though Conte is already winning some of his team over.
One fan suggested that the players are only excited about this decision because Conte made it, and while that’s an interesting theory, in our view, this is more of a positive reflection on Mason rather than a sign of Conte’s influence.
Most of the reaction was positive, but one supporter did query how Tanguy Ndombele would feel about this news. After all, Mason didn’t pick Ndombele all that often during his tenure as caretaker.
