Some Liverpool fans on social media are absolutely gutted after it emerged that Takumi Minamino has picked up an injury on international duty.
Why are fans so bothered about an injury to Minamino? He’s not a regular starter for the Reds, and he shouldn’t be missed too much.
Well, the answer lies in the Anfield outfit’s depth up top, and with Roberto Firmino also out of action, there could be trouble brewing on Merseyside.
Luckily, Diogo Jota is still fit and firing, but if he was to go down with an injury or a suspension, the Reds would have to call on Divock Origi or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and with all due respect, it’s hard to win a Premier League title with either of those two up top.
We don’t know the extent of Minamino’s injury yet, but this has just gone to further highlight the club’s lack of activity in the transfer window as they failed to add another attacker to their ranks.
