Everton boss Marco Silva is said to be keen to add Yerry Mina to his ranks at Goodison Park this summer.

According to a report on Goal, Everton are on the verge of signing Yerry Mina from Barcelona, and that will surely encourage Ashley Williams to move.

The Liverpool Echo have suggested that Williams is keen to stay at Everton, despite being made available by Marco Silva.

But Mina’s expected arrival at Goodison Park will only push him further away from the first-team.

Williams faces heading into the new season as fifth choice centre-back, behind Mina, Phil Jagielka, Mason Holgate and Michael Keane.

And, if that is to be the case, the £12 million centre-back (BBC Sport) surely won’t want to stick around at Goodison Park.

Williams may never play for a bigger club than Everton again, but elsewhere he would at least stand a chance of getting on the pitch regularly.

And it seems that the best option for player and club would be to move on this summer, if Mina does sign for the Toffees.
