Chris Sutton has suggested to the Daily Mail that he has doubts about Tottenham Hotspur targets Max Aarons, Ben Godfrey and Jamal Lewis, after they way Norwich City were regelated.
Tottenham are said to want the Norwich trio, and all three could be available from the Canaries following their relegation.
However, Sutton thinks that there should be concerns around signing any of the trio now, as Norwich were relegated without putting up much of a fight.
“Norwich’s players didn’t do themselves any favours in Project Restart as they became only the third club in Premier League history to lose 10 consecutive games,” Sutton said.
“The likes of Max Aarons, Ben Godfrey and Jamal Lewis are clearly talented but when push came to shove they didn’t stand up to the challenge. That would worry me.”
Whether Tottenham will be put off the trio by their performances towards the end of the season remains to be seen.
The Daily Express claim that Tottenham want both Godfrey and Aarons, while Bild say that Lewis is on their wishlist.
Tottenham appear to have made strengthening their defence a priority heading into the summer.
Norwich did have the leakiest backline in the Premier League though, and whether any of their defenders would appeal to Mourinho remains to be seen.
