Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles is a £15million target for West Ham United, according to The Sun.

Lascelles has established himself as a Premier League star this term, impressing on Tyneside where his absence was keenly felt over a five-game spell in which he was missing, with Rafa Benitez’s side failing to win a single match.

And so it is of little surprise to see other clubs interested but, even after considering the unrealistic low fee, surely Lascelles would not seriously consider the switch…

Like it or not, West Ham are not in good shape right now.

The club are at odds with the fans, playing in an unhappy stadium, struggling to pick up results under David Moyes and facing a tough run-in in order to stay in the top flight.

London is a draw, as big money would be, but it is not like Lascelles needs a move either.

When weighing up the pros and cons, it is difficult to see why Lascelles would entertain an offer from London Stadium.

If West Ham are to rebuild their relationship with supporters with big moves this summer, they may have to turn to a more realistic target.
