The 30-year-old Honduran is out of contract at the end of the season.

Over the weekend Celtic saw themselves heavily linked with a move for Turkish international Hasan Ali Kaldirim.

It was first reported in Turkey by Fotomac that Celtic had already contacted the player over a potential three-year-contract in Glasgow. The deal is said to be worth around £1.6 million-a-year and will see him stay at Parkhead until at least 2020.

So what would a move for the player mean for club stalwart Emilio Izaguirre?

The Honduran international has been at the club since 2010 and been a regular in the first-team, but found himself out of contention last season.

The 30-year-old has suffered due to the emergence of Kieran Tierney in the Celtic first-team and for a large portion of last season it looked like he was on his way out of the club.

But with Tierney out injured he has been involved a lot again recently and there has been talk of a new deal at the club.

However, if Celtic are bringing in a younger left-back to rival Tierney for the spot in the side it is highly unlikely that Izaguirre would be sticking around.

It could be Kaldirim’s arrival spells the end for Izaguirre.
