Aston Villa fans have reacted on Twitter to rumours that they are willing to spend big money on Tammy Abraham.
The Mirror have claimed that Villa are ready to splash £40 million on the 23-year-old Chelsea striker.
This rumour has resulted in a mixed reaction from supporters because they are questioning whether they should pay such big bucks for his talents.
If Abraham were to join then he wouldn’t start in a front two with Ollie Watkins because Dean Smith has never played two up top since becoming Villa manager.
It would either be Abraham and Watkins competing for that number one striker spot, or the latter moving out to the left and the former loanee playing more centrally.
On paper, it would be a signal of intent from Villa if they signed Abraham, especially with the rumours about Jack Grealish circulating.
It would also increase their chances of getting into Europe for next season and provide Smith with that much-needed depth he has been craving.
But would Abraham swap sitting on the bench at Stamford Bridge to doing the same at Villa Park? Unless Smith has other plans.
One thing is for sure, if he did sign then he would be welcomed back with open arms from those in the Midlands because he helped them earn promotion three seasons ago.
But wherever the penalty box poacher ends up, he will always be a popular figure with the Holte End.
Nonetheless, here is a selection of Villa fans reacting to the Abraham rumours:
