Leeds United fans reacted to Chris Wood’s first Premier League hat-trick from over the weekend.
In a demolition job in the Midlands, the one-time Leeds favourite battered a sorry Wolves defence, who had no answer to his movement, power and deadly finishing.
It’s been nearly four years since Wood swapped Leeds for Turf Moor in a £15 million deal (BBC Sport), and in every season in the Premier League since, he has struck double figures for the Clarets.
When the New Zealand international initially left Leeds, it was met with some controversy given how he departed the club.
But that move has been now been justified and he is a pretty underrated figure in England’s top-flight.
Whilst Wood doesn’t play for an all-out swinging punches team like Leeds, he still does a pretty impressive job for a team more reliant on their jab and strong defence.
Either way, it would have been pretty interesting to see how Wood would have faired had he worked under Marcelo Bielsa because he would have transformed him into much higher heights than he is currently hitting.
