Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur will be vying for the top prizes once again when the new season begins in August.
Fulham wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon is attracting the interest of the Premier League’s big boys with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur some of the teams keen on his services.
Bleacher Report have claimed that Sessegnon is one of Liverpool’s potential targets this season as they aim to add a left-back to their squad this summer, with the report stating that he would prefer to join Tottenham over the Reds.
But would the 19-year-old be better off joining Liverpool this summer rather than Tottenham?
During the recently concluded campaign, Liverpool lifted the Champions League trophy when they beat Spurs in Madrid. Added with that, they recorded 97 points in the Premier League and were agonisingly close to being crowned champion of England.
In terms of Sessegnon’s playing career, both Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino have the capabilities of taking his game to very high levels, they have proven it with the likes of Andy Robertson and Dele Alli, to name a few.
But the harsh reality is that, at this moment in time, Liverpool have more of a chance of lifting silverware than the London club, as was proven in Madrid.
Therefore, is the attack-minded Sessegnon much better off moving to Merseyside than staying in London because by the end of it he would have more trophies to his cabinet?
The Reds proved their worth in Europe last season. In England’s top-flight, they could do nothing more other than applaud Man City’s effort.
But Klopp’s side proved, as did Pep Guardiola’s side, that they are miles ahead of the rest of the pack when it comes to trying to win the league. And, truth be told, it won’t be a surprise if that doesn’t change next season. So, perhaps Sessegnon should re-think which club he should choose because the talented wonderkid might just end up with more trophies to his cabinet if he moves to Anfield than North London.
