Would Rangers double deal offset possible star departure?

Rangers still have decisions to make as the transfer deadline approaches.

The Gers are attempting to bring one striker in at present, with negotiations ongoing for Kyle Lafferty – but can the 30-year-old replace Morelos on his own?

Rangers might stand a chance of filling the void if they decided to sign Lafferty, and push through their loan interest in Liverpool’s Dominic Solanke.

Solanke has been linked to Rangers all summer, with the Daily Record reporting last week that he remains on their radar.

The one-cap England international failed to make Liverpool’s opening matchday squad, and needs to go and play regular football.

A loan to join Gerrard at Rangers is his best bet, whether it be alongside Lafferty or Morelos.

England's forward Dominic Solanke celebrates his goal during the U-20 World Cup semi-final football match between England and Italy in Jeonju on June 8, 2017.

If Rangers sign Lafferty and sell Morelos they will be no better off, but if they can add Solanke too, they may even upgrade on the Colombian.

Rangers also have youngster Umar Sadiq on loan from Roma, and like Solanke, he is an unproven commodity.

If Gerrard has two of them backing up either Morelos or Solanke, Rangers give themselves a greater probability of success than just relying on one.

Who would you rather in the Rangers squad? Morelos? Or Lafferty and Solanke?
