The Leeds United man lacks the qualities to pose a major threat to the Robins’ centre-backs.

Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen made a big decision in replacing Felix Wiedwald with Andy Lonergan this past weekend. The German was begging to be dropped after a sluggish start to his Leeds career and Lonergan proved he was the better option in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat by Reading – United’s third loss in succession.
But Christiansen has another big question to answer ahead of Saturday’s trip to Bristol City: will he drop Pierre-Michel Lasogga?
The 25-year-old has managed one goal in the six games that have followed since a debut brace in the 5-0 thumping of Burton Albion last month.

And it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if he fails to score at Ashton Gate.
Aden Flint and Nathan Baker are the Robins’ first-choice central defenders and Lasogga lacks the speed and mobility to expose the duo.
In addition to that, the German striker, who touched the ball 12 times in 77 minutes versus Reading, will do well to better six-foot-five inch Flint and Baker at 6’2 in the aerial stakes and you wonder if Christiansen would be wise to go with a mobile option such Kemar Roofe or Pawel Cibicki up front.

With Flint in the side, the Robins have conceded only twice in their last six games and it doesn’t bode well for Leeds in that regard if their best hope is a striker whose best game came against Burton – a relegation candidate with the joint-worst defensive record in the division.
There is little to suggest that Roofe and Cibicki – yet to make his Championship debut – would do any better. Question is, could they do any worse than Lasogga based on recent performances?
