Do Celtic’s hopes of signing Odsonne Edouard hinge on Brendan Rodgers’s plans?

Even if he will cost around £7 million (Daily Mail), Odsonne Edouard boosted his chances of securing a permanent move to Celtic on Sunday.
The French hitman came off the bench to curl home a wonderful winner in the 3-2 Old Firm win at Rangers and strengthen his hopes of staying at Parkhead for the foreseeable future, having joined on loan from PSG last summer.
But in light of recent reports about manager Brendan Rodgers, will Edouard want to remain at Celtic?
According to The Scottish Sun, Southampton are interested in hiring the Hoops boss to replace Mauricio Pellegrino. That rumour follows other speculation about links to Arsenal and Everton in recent weeks and whatever happens, it looks like the Northern Irishman might appeal to Premier League sides again this summer.

Having seen what Rodgers did for striker Moussa Dembele last season, working with the former Liverpool boss must have been among Edouard’s incentives for joining Celtic in the first place and it seems perfectly valid to ask whether he would want to stay in Glasgow if Rodgers has designs on leaving.
The 21-year-old has six goals in nine Premiership starts for the Bhoys this season and there is every chance that he could be as prolific as a Dembele or a Leigh Griffiths when given a consistent run of games.
It might be £7 million well spent. Question is, will Celtic get a chance to spend it if somebody other than Rodgers is doing the bidding?
