Murphy left Sheffield United for Brighton & Hove Albion in 2015.

Sheffield United’s David Brooks is a sought-after player, according to recent reports.
Having tied the newly-capped Wales international to a new four-year deal last month, however, the ball is very much in United’s court should said interest firm up.
Brooks has impressed in his 18 appearances this season – his first in the Football League – with the wins at rivals Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United standing out above others.
And according to those aforementioned reports, Sheffield United can expect an eight-figure fee if and when the 20-year-old moves on to bigger and better things.

Any money earned would likely end up in Chris Wilder’s coffers, however, and would surely allow the Blades to compete for a higher calibre of player – although as Wilder will tell you, that doesn’t always mean better.
One player whose signing would almost certainly appease the Bramall Lane faithful is that of Brighton & Hove Albion winger Jamie Murphy.

And according to bookmakers Bet Victor, United are already favourites to sign Murphy – who had a successful two-year stint with the Blades earlier this decade and hasn’t appeared for Brighton since late September.
The 28-year-old would slot seamlessly into Brooks’ role, and bring with him the Championship promotion experience that could see Wilder’s men over the line this season – with money perhaps left over for further recruits.
Sheffield United fans – would you consider Brooks’ sale if it meant a return for Murphy?
