Everton fans have reacted on Twitter to rumours that Rafa Benitez wants to sign Kalidou Koulibaly.
90Min have claimed that Napoli are willing to sell the defender for £35 million, as Everton express their interest in the centre-back.
It wasn’t so long ago that a number of Champions League clubs were keen on Koulibaly’s talents, but it seems as though his reputation has dropped since then.
Everton fans have offered a mixed reaction to these rumours, with some making it clear that such a deal won’t happen.
This isn’t the first time that the Toffees’ name has been linked with the 30-year-old’s.
Those in the Goodison Park boardroom have already done business with Napoli when Carlo Ancelotti managed to lure Allan to Merseyside last summer.
And the all-action midfielder turned out to be one of Everton’s best players last season, despite a campaign that saw them dwindle to a tenth place finish.
Everton have options to choose from at centre-back, Michael Keane, Mason Holgate, Yerry Mina and Ben Godfrey.
But two of those players can play across the back four and perhaps Benitez wants his added touch at the back given that he is a defensive-minded coach.
