Derek McInnes has written in The Scottish Daily Mail (page 148, November 14, 2021) that he is interested in becoming the new manager of Ibrox club Rangers.
McInnes has said that, like any other manager, he is keen on replacing Steven Gerrard at Rangers.
Gerrard left his managerial role at Rangers this week to become the new boss of Aston Villa.
The Times reported before the weekend that former Rangers midfielder McInnes is a managerial candidate for the Gers.
The Daily Record have claimed that Rangers chairman Douglas Park is an admirer of the Scotsman.
McInnes wrote in The Scottish Daily Mail (page 148, November 14, 2021), as relayed by The Daily Record: “Any manager, including myself, would love that kind of opportunity.”

Derek McInnes to Rangers is unlikely now
McInnes is without a managerial job at the moment, and there is no surprise that he wants to take charge of Rangers now.
After all, the 50-year-old is a former Rangers player, and everyone knows how big a club the Gers are.
However, in our view, it is very unlikely that Rangers will hand McInnes the job now.
As reported by The Daily Record, McInnes turned down the Rangers job in 2017 when he was the manager of Aberdeen.
Former Rangers star Giovanni van Bronckhorst and ex-Chelsea manager Frank Lampard as now the leading candidates, according to The Herald.
