West Ham are linked with former Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini.
West Ham face a crucial few weeks as they bid to secure their place in the Premier League for next season.
The Hammers are two points clear of the drop zone with eight games to go with eight games remaining, and if they stay up, the board are interested in appointing Manuel Pellegrini.
The Sun report former Manchester City manager Pellegrini is their top target, and they hope to lure him away from the Chinese Super League.
West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady has previously criticised Pellegrini in her newspaper column, and will probably be hoping it slipped under his radar.
Brady wrote in The Sun: “The Manchester City boss has always been discreet and self-controlled in his comments on refereeing. Until today.
“At the Emirates, after a year in the Etihad hotseat, he has joined fellow managers as a post-match scourge of officials who displease him. His target is man-in-black Mark Clattenburg who, he implies, has a bit of a thing about City.”
Fortunately for Brady, her column then went onto discuss Arsene Wenger, and did not get into a full blown rant on Pellegrini.
Whether the Chilean is comfortable working for a vice-chairman who is so publicly judgemental about Premier League managers is another matter.
He would have to take a substantial pay decrease to quit Hebei China Fortune for West Ham, but they could offer him the chance to manage again in England and this should be tempting.
Brady will have to hope that Pellegrini does not have a negative viewpoint on her which cannot be changed and would hinder negotiations.
