Even some Arsenal fans on social media believe that Tottenham would benefit from a deal that would see Aymeric Laporte join Spurs.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have been offered a chance to broker a player plus cash deal with Manchester City for Harry Kane, and one player they could land in such a move is Laporte.
Laporte is a Spain international and in the past he’s been in the PFA Team of the Year, and it has to be said that he would improve Spurs’ squad if he came in.
Indeed, Laporte’s brilliance is so undeniable that even Arsenal supporters have had to admit that this would be a great move.
There was something of a mixed reaction from Arsenal fans, ranging from sadness to jealous to despair, but the common theme is that they’re worried about Tottenham landing a really talented player.
Of course, with Arsenal being one of Spurs’ biggest rivals, the last thing they want is for their north London neighbours to get stronger, but if Laporte came in, they’d certainly improve at the back.
