Sport Bild claim that Dortmund have slapped a £39.8 million price-tag on Pulisic’s head, and that would represent fantastic value for whoever wins the race for his signature.
Would the 19-year-old be better suited to United or Liverpool, though?
Pulisic is a natural winger by trade, and is at his best when operating from either flank, cutting inside onto either his left or right foot.
With the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard already competing for places at Old Trafford, and a gaping hole left behind at Anfield after Philippe Coutinho’s departure, Liverpool might just be the better option for the United States international.
Jürgen Klopp has Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Adam Lallana available to him in the three attacking slots behind the main striker, but when one of those three is injured or unavailable for selection, the German doesn’t have much in reserve.
Pulisic would solve that problem in an instant. He would also fit right into Klopp’s high tempo philosophy what with the high-octane manner in which he operates.
At 19, the Dortmund ace is a bundle of energy, and that combined with his exceptional technical ability makes him a nightmare to defend against.
Whilst United will surely still be interested in Pulisic this summer, the youngster might just be better served in choosing Liverpool over their north west rivals.
