Aston Villa have been linked with a move for the Burnley forward this month.
Steve Bruce will surely be looking to bolster his ranks at Villa Park before the transfer window slams shut, as he looks to guide his side back to the Premier League this season.
The Birmingham Mail claim that one of his targets is Burnley hitman Nahki Wells, with Leicester continuing to play hardball over Leonardo Ulloa.
Would the Clarets striker be an upgrade on what Bruce already his available to him though?
The obvious answer to that is no.
The 27-year-old moved to Turf Moor from Huddersfield Town on transfer deadline day in the summer, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £5 million, but he has really struggled for both form and confidence under Sean Dyche.
He has failed to make a single start for Burnley, and is still yet to score a goal or register an assist in the six substitute appearances he has made.
Bruce has plenty of attacking options available to him, despite injuries to Jonathan Kodjia Gabby Agbonlahor, and with Scott Hogan now firing on all cylinders, the Villa boss should only be targeting an exceptional forward who can genuinely improve his team.
And it is highly doubtful that Wells would improve the Villa starting XI.
