Rangers playmaker Carlos Pena left Ibrox on loan this month and needs replacing.

Rangers boss Graeme Murty has already completed five new deals this month including a permanent move for left-back Declan John, but a new number 10 should be his new transfer priority at Ibrox.
Carlos Pena joined former Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha at Cruz Azul this month for a year’s loan, while Niko Kranjcar is yet to show his true quality at Ibrox. The Croatian’s contract ends in the summer.
Murty has adopted a diamond system of late and the number 10 role is pivotal in such a formation, connecting the midfield to attack and orchestrating the attack in the gap between the lines.

But without an attacking midfielder he can place his faith in, Murty needs to scour the transfer market for a player capable of finding the back of the net from deep as well as being able to split open an opposition’s defence.
The Sun (22nd January, page 51) reports that Championship heavyweights Leeds United and Aston Villa are eyeing a move to sign Blackburn Rovers playmaker Bradley Dack, but he would be perfect for Rangers.
The 24-year-old has scored 12 goals and added five assists in 26 games for Tony Mowbray’s side this season, as Blackburn eye an instant return to the second tier of English football from League One.

His eye for goal and invention in the final third would thrive north of the border, if Murty decides to lure the former Gillingham star to Glasgow before the January deadline on the 31st.
Celtic have been credited with an interest in Dack in recent years, but landing the Blackburn ace would certainly close the gap between the Old Firm rivals as Brendan Rodgers’ side remain 11 points ahead of the Gers.
A new arrival at Ewood Park with two and a half years remaining on his current deal, Dack would be the perfect signing for Rangers this month if the Light Blues can land his signature in the next nine days.
