Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to rumours that they have changed their stance on Calum Chambers future.
90Min have claimed that Arsenal are now open to selling the bonafide centre-back, who can also operate as a right-back.
Back in May, Football London claimed that Arsenal were looking to hand the versatile defender a new deal.
But it seems as though Arsenal have performed a bit of a U-turn on the £16 million player (BBC Sport), who has been at the club for seven years now, and he could now leave.
It seems as though a section of the Arsenal supporters would be happy to see Chambers head for the exit door this summer.
Whilst Chambers wasn’t a regular last season, he still played a significant number of games that saw Mikel Arteta’s side miss out on European football.
From top to bottom, a clearout is needed at Arsenal and Chambers may well see his head being put on the chopping board.
It has to raise the question, if the Southampton academy product remains at the club then can he push his name forward to be a regular producing strong performances week in and week out?
Well, some may argue that he hasn’t been able to do that since he has been in North London and that won’t be changing any time soon.
So, from Arsenal’s perspective, if they can get a team to pay the bucks for his talents then it is better to move him on.
