Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Daily Mail, London News Online and The Telegraph revealed that Stoke City’s Jack Butland is set to move to Selhurst Park.

London News Online say that the Eagles are lining up the England international with Wayne Hennessey set to spend four months on the sidelines, after picking up an injury on international duty.

The Daily Mail state that contact was made with the Potters on Thursday, and a deal is expected to be sorted before Friday’s 5pm deadline.

Butland has earned nine caps for England, picking up the first four of them under Roy Hodgson’s management.

However, since playing for his country, the 27-year-old’s career has stagnated hugely down in the Championship due to injuries and loss of form.

The Bristol-born glovesman is yet to make an appearance in the Championship this season.

Before moving to the Britannia Stadium, Butland was tipped for big things with Chelsea interested in signing him according to The Guardian.

However, he ultimately decided to make a £4 million move to Stoke.
