Houston Dynamo striker Alberth Elis has admitted that he would be interested in moving to Celtic, having asked former Hoops star Emilio Izaguirre about life at the Glasgow giants, while speaking to Diez.

Interestingly enough, this 42-capped forward is not the first Honduran international to be linked with a move to the Scottish Premiership champions this summer.

La Prensa reported a month ago that Jorge Benguche, an intelligent and classy number nine who has been compared to Karim Benzema in central America, is a target for one of Britain’s biggest clubs.

Given the chance, another Bicolor front man would jump at the opportunity to travel across the Atlantic and pull on the iconic green-and-white shirt.

“I have always talked to him,” Elis says when asked about whether he would like to follow in Izaguirre’s footsteps at Celtic.

“It would be nice to be able to get there (to the Hoops) because they fight for titles and play in the Champions League.

“I have spoken (to Izaguirre) and he tells me they are on another level.”

This is not the first time a move to Celtic has been mooted for the speedy 24-year-old.

Speaking to the Sun last year, Izaguirre himself admitted that his former employers had asked him about the 6ft striker.

With 30 goals in 82 MLS appearances for Houston Dynamo, Elis has scored at an impressive rate on the other side of the ocean, and his mix of intelligent movement and tidy finishing could ensure that there is life after Odsonne Edouard for Celtic.
