Some Leeds United fans on social media have been reacting after hearing Paul Heckingbottom is on Sheffield United’s shortlist to become their next permanent manager.

Heckingbottom’s last job in English football was of course at Leeds United, so, as you can imagine, the Elland Road faithful had plenty to say about this news.

Unfortunately for Blades fans, Leeds supporters don’t seem to think Heckingbottom will do a good job at Bramall Lane.

Indeed, this news was greeted by responses claiming that the Blades will soon be playing their football in League One, and unfortunately, that prediction may not be too wide of the mark.

Heckingbottom has proven to be quite a poor manager at that level, being sacked by Leeds after just six months in the job, so we can’t help but feel that United supporters may be right to ridicule this potential appointment.

Here’s what the Elland Road faithful have been saying on social media…
