Speaking to Off The Ball’s YouTube channel, John Hartson has called for Celtic to appoint Roy Keane as their new manager.
The Glasgow outfit are yet to appoint a new full-time boss after parting ways with Neil Lennon, and while plenty of names have been linked, Hartson believes Keane is the man for the job.
“Celtic have not put up a fight. It is 21 points with seven games to go. They have won the league before the split,” Hartson said of Celtic’s season.
“That is the type of manager that is needed. When we mentioned Roy Keane, I think Roy would be excellent. He would be well-respected among the players, he would have learned a lot in terms of what he has achieved up to now.”
“He has come from an assistant role – I wouldn’t be concerned. You know me, if I didn’t think Roy was the person that could galvanise the team and get them going, get them organised, then I would be the first one to say that.
“I think Roy would be good.”

This is certainly an interesting take.
Keane would command respect. After all, he’s one of the most successful players of all time, and he knows the club well, having played for the Bhoys towards the end of his career.
However, he’s not managed a team in a decade since leaving Ipswich in 2011, but he has shown that his managerial acumen in the past, leading Sunderland to promotion back in 2007.
Keane would definitely be an intriguing appointment at Celtic Park.
