Graham Roberts has claimed on Twitter that Tottenham Hotspur would be making a ‘superb signing’ this summer if they land Gianluigi Donnarumma.
According to Tuttosport, Tottenham could sign the 22-year-old AC Milan goalkeeper during the close season.
Spurs have been linked with signing a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris over the past couple of seasons but nothing has materialised.
The Italy international is one of the best young goalkeepers in the world and at 22, has a very high ceiling to improve.
And here’s how former Tottenham player Roberts reacted on Twitter:
Conte collapse
Bear in mind that the Donnarumma speculation came about while Antonio Conte was being linked to Tottenham.
But The Guardian reported that the legendary Italian coach will now not be joining the Lilywhites as Jose Mourinho’s replacement after the talks collapsed.
This is a major blow for the North Londoners because not only is he a brilliant manager and one who has won a Premier League title with Chelsea, but he’s the sort of figure who would certainly have attracted big names during the summer transfer window, like the Milan stopper.
But with Conte to Tottenham now not happening, it remains to be seen if rumours like Donnarumma will also fizzle out.
