Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in signing the Barcelona midfielder.
According to a report from the Birmingham Mail, Wolves are interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes, but would the Portuguese be an impressive addition to Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad, or just an over-hyped foreign flop?
Gomes joined Barca from Valencia in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £46 million, according to BBC Sport, but he has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular at the Camp Nou.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that he doesn’t still have a lot to offer at the very highest level, though.

The 24-year-old is an orthodox central midfielder by trade, and possesses an impressive array of passing, although he can sometimes be found wanting in possession of the football.
With the highly intense nature of the Premier League, it is debatable whether his somewhat lazy playing style would be suited to the English game, and he would undoubtedly have to sharpen up if he did join Wolves.
According to the Independent, Gomes could be available for around £30 million this summer, and that would be a lot of money for the Black Country outfit to shell out on a player whose performances have been underwhelming to say the least over the past two years.
The jury is still very much out on whether Gomes can cut it at the top level, and bringing him to Wolves for £30 million might just be a risk that Nuno doesn’t need to take.
