Leeds United should make a move for Everton winger Aiden McGeady, who played for Preston North End on loan this season, in the summer transfer window.

According to The Liverpool Echo, Everton are looking to strike a £2 million deal with Preston North End regarding the transfer of Aiden McGeady.

McGeady played on loan for Championship club Preston from Premier League outfit Everton during the 2016-17 season.

The 31-year-old former Celtic winger played quite well for Preston, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists in 32 Championship starts.

The Liverpool Echo has quoted McGeady as saying that he would love to stay at Preston, but Leeds United should still make a move.

If Everton are looking for £2m to part company with the Republic of Ireland international winger, then Leeds should pay that sum.

Stuart Dallas is still a good player, but the Northern Ireland international winger did not have a great 2016-17 campaign.

Leeds will be aiming to finish in the Championship playoffs next season, and signing McGeady would enhance their chances of doing just that.

Moreover, the Whites have wanted to sign the winger before. Back in January 2016, then Leeds head coach Steve Evans revealed his interest in McGeady, as reported by The Liverpool Echo.

McGeady may be looking to stay at Preston, but Leeds should still test the waters and make an approach.
