Reported Leeds United, Arsenal and Liverpool target Michael Olise should be worth up to £40 million, former Reading defender Matt Mills has told The Sun.

The Royals’ young prince has taken on the Jude Bellingham role this season, becoming the Football League’s most exciting youngster after the Birmingham City wonderkid swapped St Andrews for Borussia Dortmund.

No player in the Championship has produced more assists than Olise (six) in 2020/21, with his devilish dead-balls once again making a difference as Veljko Paunovic’s Reading moved to within one point of top spot after Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.

TEAMtalk reports Liverpool and Everton are watching closely as Olise struts his stuff in the second tier, while Dortmund have their sights set on another England-based starlet too.

The Frenchman also has admirers at Leeds, Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to the Daily Mail.

And Mills believes his many suitors should be prepared to dig deep if they want to tempt Reading into a deal.

“For a player of that age and quality, you’ve got to say he’s worth £30m to £40m now,” says a defender who spent two years at the Madejski between 2009 and 2011.

Speaking to Berkshire Live recently, Reading boss Paunovic admitted Olise could leave the Championship surprise package in the near future, although he will hope a sale can be pushed back until the end of the season as the Royals vie for promotion.

If Mills is correct and Reading are demanding £40 million, Leeds and Wolves would be required to pay a club-record fee for the young midfielder.
