Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter are now thinking that Maurizio Sarri will be their next manager after Jose Mourinho joined Roma.
It hasn’t even been a month since Tottenham sacked Mourinho and he has already landed himself a job in Italy, whilst Daniel Levy still searches for his successor in North London.
A lot of names have been linked with the Tottenham post, including that of Sarri’s, as reported by 90 Min.
But what was pleasing Tottenham fans, at the time, was such a deal might not happen because ESPN were previously claiming that Sarri was going to join Roma.
Well, a certain Mourinho has put an end to that now and it does mean that the 62-year-old, who managed Chelsea to the Europa League trophy, is still being talked about.
And it has raised the question from the Spurs faithful as to whether the Italian will now be heading their way.
Serious questions have to be asked of Levy that he sacked Mourinho, yet no one has been handed the job on a permanent basis, and the man he sacked, has already managed to land himself a new job for next season.
Either way, the last thing Spurs fans will want is another ex-Chelsea boss landing on their doorstep because the last two – Mourinho and Andres Villas-Boas – didn’t exactly have the greatest of times in North London.
Nonetheless, here is a selection of Spurs fans reacting to Sarri still being available after Mourinho joins Roma:
