We’ve taken a look at some of the worst performers from the latest round of Premier League fixtures.

Most aerial duels lost

There’s a mixture of strikers and defenders on this list which is no surprise. It’s not a stat where too much should be read into the numbers because Christian Benteke also won an awful lot of aerial challenges against West Ham.

Tackles lost

It will be encouraging from a Tottenham point of view to see Bentaleb on this list. He lost five challenges but it’s proof that his confidence is improving and he’s willing to take on more players at key times during games.

Dribbles overrun

Ashley, Ashley Young. He just can’t get a break at Manchester United right now. When he’s not cutting back onto his right foot, he’s poking the ball a bit too hard and watching it fall safely back at the feet of the opposition.

Most unsuccessful touches

The alarming one on this list is Santi Cazorla. David Moyes needs to ring Brendan Rodgers and all of Liverpool’s key players today, asking what on earth they said to the Spaniard to make his normally world class first touch go missing against Liverpool.

Most fouls

Chamakh features for the second time this week but it’s important to note that he’s clearly getting stuck in as the theme of how Tony Pulis likes his teams to play football starts to shine through at Crystal Palace. More of the same please or does he have to tone it down? If the results keep coming, not many Palace fans will care.

Most shots off target

Michael Carrick can be forgiven because the attacking emphasis falls with other players at Manchester United. However, the other four players on this list are paid to hit the back of the net and in every case, other than Jelavic, greater accuracy could have prompted points.

Most times lost possession

Stekelenburg can be forgiven because he’s a goalkeeper and not every goal kick he hoofs down the pitch will find a Fulham player. Ashley Young, again, needs to protect the ball a little bit better and Tottenham’s Emmanuel Adebayor is an interesting one considering other aspects of his game were superb against Everton.
