”Worst performance I have ever seen in a Manchester United shirt!”

That was the view of my Manchester United fan and friend on the performance of Nani at Stamford Bridge … do you agree?

So I am sitting around watching the Chelsea v Manchester United FA Cup Quarter Final replay at Stamford Bridge with a group of friends. At one end of the table a passionate Chelsea fan and a Manchester United fan is kept at a polar opposite to my right. These are the two slices of bread in a Reading, Southampton and Everton sandwich and the rhetoric from each is cumbersome to say the least.

Whilst to my left I had the ‘true blue’ purring over the standard of Eden Hazard’s display and Petr Cech’s shoe-in for save of the season over to my right my United fan acquaintance is going as bright red in frustration as their famous mascot.

The majority of this frustration was aimed at Nani.

When he was hauled off on 65 minutes that’s when he shouted at the top of his lungs:

‘’Easily the worst performance I have ever seen in a Manchester United shirt!’’

Wow. Was he really that bad I ponder?

I start to mention names. Kleberson… Nope. Massimo Taibi … Nope. Eric Djemba-Djemba … Nope.

This abject display from Nani was the worst my die-hard United follower of a friend had ever seen in his life; all 24 years of it.

He could not control the ball. His crossing was horrendous. His passing completely inaccurate and as for his tracking back it was non-existent and a nuisance when he did make the effort.

More frustratingly was his inability to deliver a decent corner and even worse the amount of free-kicks he was giving away way up the pitch.

No there was worse. Yet another of his ‘performances’ after receiving a light brush of air from the forearm of John Obi Mikel. Give me a break!

There has been a lot of talk recently about Nani’s future at the club and surely after yet another awful performance it is time to see him go.

Let’s not forget, rightly or wrongly, Nani’s red-card cost Manchester United their Champions League hopes this season.

It is time to say thanks but no thanks to Nani and flog him off this summer.

Would you send Nani on his way this summer?
