This Timo Werner to Liverpool story just isn’t going away.
There’s so much conflicting information about it, too.
In April, Sky Sports reported that Liverpool wouldn’t be going after the Leipzig marksman, despite the player’s willingness to join the Anfield club.
But now Le 10 Sport have revealed that Jurgen Klopp and the 24-year-old have had a series of phonecalls with one another discussing life with the reigning European champions.
The report from France adds that both parties really want the transfer to happen and here’s how Liverpool supporters reacted to the latest Werner news on Twitter:
Is this going to happen?
If we’re honest, probably not.
Liverpool don’t particularly need a number nine of Werner’s ability right now, because the likelyhood is that he wouldn’t even play regularly ahead of Roberto Firmino.
And for what he would cost, a move to Merseyside just makes no sense at this moment in time.
Despite being illogical, though, you can still expect to read a lot more speculation about him going to Liverpool over the coming months.
