Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in the Sheffield Wednesday striker.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to be considering Jordan Rhodes as an alternative to Southampton striker Sam Gallagher (The Sun on Sunday).
However there is no suggestion, at this stage, that Wolves’ interest in the Sheffield Wednesday player goes any further than that.
Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes
Rhodes initially moved to Hillsborough on loan in January, with a mandatory permanent deal – worth £10 million, according to Transfermarkt – completed at the start of last month.
At the time of his arrival, no player had scored more Championship goals than Rhodes (91) since the start of 2012-13, making the above club-record fee seem like a fair one to pay.
But 21 appearances later, the Scotland international has found the net just three times for the Owls, whose progress in the summer transfer market has been hindered, undoubtedly, by their commitment to his transfer.
And while many Wednesday fans suspect Rhodes’ struggles are more to do with his colleagues’ lack of creativity than any lack of individual ability, others would sell him to Wolves in an instant.

Can Sheffield Wednesday get Rhodes firing again, or should they hope the ‘interest’ from Wolverhampton Wanderers develops?
