Reports from Sky Sports this evening claim that West Ham United are eyeing up a move to appoint Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic as their new manager this summer, should they move on from Slaven Bilic.

Bilic eased the mounting pressure on him with a 1-0 home win over Swansea City on Saturday afternoon, ending a five-game losing run and a sequence of two points in seven games.

The Croatian is far from out of the woods though, and West Ham still need to keep picking up points to guarantee survival from relegation, with a poor season putting Bilic’s future in doubt.

Bilic guided West Ham to a seventh-placed finish in the Premier League last season, but Sky Sports report that the club could replace him this summer – if they can land Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic.

The Serb, 48, has reportedly emerged as West Ham’s top target to replace Bilic having impressed with Fulham, since leaving Maccabi Tel Aviv to take the job at Craven Cottage in December 2015.

The former Chelsea midfielder, who guided Watford to promotion to the Premier League in 2015, has been something of a managerial nomad, managing in Serbia, Thailand, Bulgaria, Spain, England and Israel.

He’s enjoying great success with Fulham though, having not only kept in the Championship last season, but also turned them into play-off contenders this season, all whilst playing an attractive brand of football.

Interest was inevitable, and with West Ham allegedly keen, Fulham fans have taken to Twitter this evening to admit their concern at the rumour, suggesting that it will test the club’s ambition and potentially unsettle key players.

Others aren’t so worried as Jokanovic signed a new contract in February, claiming that he is better than West Ham’s ‘Slav’ whilst telling them to keep their hands off Jokanovic.
