West Ham United are reportedly keen on signing the Paris Saint-Germain star, but Roma have joined the race.
According to a report from Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma are trying to hijack West Ham’s proposed move to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Javier Pastore.
According to Sky Sports, the Hammers have been locked in negotiations with PSG and Pastore’s agents regarding a potential £17.5 million move for the Argentine.
The 28-year-old’s reported £190,000 wage demands are proving to be a stumbling block, however, according to Sky Sports, with West Ham unable to afford that salary for one player.
The east London outfit have received another blow in their pursuit of Pastore, according to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim that Roma are attempting to hijack the Premier League club’s proposed move for the PSG ace.
Much will depend on which club offers the Argentina international the most money, but even more concerning for West Ham is the fact that Roma are able to offer Champions League football.
Signing Pastore would have been a real statement of intent from the Hammers, but their task of bringing the South American to the London Stadium has just become that little bid harder than it already was.
