Middlesbrough reportedly want Leeds boss Garry Monk as manager.
Leeds United manager Garry Monk
Leeds United head coach Garry Monk has become the bookies favourite to get the vacant Middlesbbrough job.
Bookies SkyBet have slashed the odds on Monk getting the gig, placing him at 8/11 on to get the role.
That is ahead of previous favourite Ryan Giggs, now 4/1, and Nigel Pearson (6/1).
Leeds have not yet been able to tie Monk down to an extended contract despite vocal calls from fans to do so.

Monk is under contract to Leeds until June, although The Mail report the Whites have an option to extend it by a further 12 months.
The former Swansea boss led Leeds to an impressive campaign where they fell just short of the play-off places, despite minimal investment in players.
The Mail reported earlier this month that Garry Monk is on Middlebrough’s radar, but they are waiting to see what the outcome of his situation is at Leeds before actively pursuing him.

Boro have just been relegated to the Championship and are looking for a permanent replacement for Aitor Karanka.
Bookie odds can often jump the gun, as Leeds fans learned last summer, with John Sheridan and Darrell Clarke both installed as favourites after Steve Evans’ departure before Monk landed the gig.
The Whites cannot afford to lose their talented young manager, but the ongoing wait to resolve his future continues to be disconcerting.
