Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing the Roma ace.

Claudio Taffarel, goal keeping coach of Brazil looks on during the International Friendly match between England and Brazil at Wembley Stadium on November 14, 2017 in London, England.

During an exclusive interview with Omnisport, Brazil legend Taffarel raved about the quality of Liverpool target Alisson Becker, claiming that the Roma goalkeeper is better than Italian great Gianluigi Buffon.

According to the Daily Mail, the 25-year-old is a key summer transfer target for the Reds, with a £62 million switch to Anfield being mooted.

Roma's Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson throws the ball during the UEFA Champions League Group C football match AS Roma vs FK Qarabag on December 5, 2017 at the Olympic stadium in Rome.

The addition of a world class goalkeeper in the summer will be of paramount importance to the Merseyside outfit’s hopes of achieving success over the course of the next few years, and Alisson could be just the ticket.

Taffarel, who won the World Cup with Brazil in 1994, offered high words of praise for his countryman, when speaking exclusively to Omnisport, suggesting that he is better than Juventus star Gianluigi Buffon:

“I’ll always respect the career of Buffon, who has been brilliant. But I believe that Alisson, as a goalkeeper, is more technical with a different posture. He always stands assertively and is confident in what he does. Alisson is really impressive.”

Standing at just under 6ft 3in tall, Alisson possesses an imposing physique, and has the ability to command his penalty area with authority – something that Liverpool currently desperately lack.

The Brazilian has managed to keep 21 clean sheet in 52 appearances for Roma thus far, and if Jürgen Klopp manages to bring him to Anfield in the summer, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for the Reds.
