The German made his Champions League debut against Rangers at Ibrox.
German World Cup winner and Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has been discussing playing against Rangers in his first Champions League game – describing it as his best away experience in Europe.
Khedira made his Champions League debut for VfB Stuttgart back in 2007 – as the Bundesliga side travelled to Ibrox.
Sami Khedira v Rangers
Rangers won the game 2-1, despite going down 1-0 to a goal from Mario Gomez. Goals from Charlie Adam and Jean-Claude Darcheville proved enough for Rangers to pick up the win at Ibrox and Khedira, despite defeat, has fond memories of his trip to Glasgow.
He told UEFA.com this week:
Juventus’ Sami Khedira in action against Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly
“I would say that Rangers (is the best away day in Europe), because it was my first match of the Champions League and there was an amazing atmosphere in the stadium.”
Of course, Rangers fans will not be getting overly excited about the prospect of seeing the mega-expensive Rolls Royce of a midfielder heading to Ibrox from Juventus anytime soon.

But the comments from the former Real Madrid star just goes to show the impact Rangers can still have on the worldgame.
Ibrox can still be a major draw for big players and a big advantage when they play in European competition.
Gers fans will just be hoping European nights return to Ibrox under Mark Warburton.
