Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers signed Alfredo Morelos this week.

Rangers announced the signing of Alfredo Morelos on a three-year deal this week.
The 20-year-old striker arrives in Glasgow with a big reputation after scoring 44 goals in 59 matches for HFK Helsinki in Finland.
And the Colombian hitman might well be motivated to replicate his talismanic performances for Rangers in what could be an outstanding first season.

The World Cup in Russia is 12 months away and although playing in the Scottish Premiership might hinder his chances of being named in Jose Pekerman’s 23-man squad if Colombia qualify, a goal-laden campaign would do his chances no harm.
It is a very big ask but if Morelos can reach the 30-goal mark, perhaps being Rangers’ answer to Celtic’s Mousa Dembele next term, then it would certainly give Pekerman something to think about in the selection process.
Plus, if Dembele has another prolific season with the Hoops then he might well be considered by France boss Didier Deschamps. If Morelos does the business in front of goal then he could also put himself in contention.

Morelos will be motivated to excel for the Gers anyway, but the very possibility of representing his country on the biggest stage of them all next summer would certainly be enough incentive for him to rip up the Premiership.
A Colombia Under-20 international, Pekerman will more than likely be somewhat familiar with Morelos, and the youngster could and should give the coach reason to watch Rangers matches throughout the 2017-18 season.
