Premier League giants Manchester United loaned Dean Henderson to Sheffield United and he shone again in the Championship against Brentford.
Whisper it, but that was a performance of champions.
Sheffield United looked set for a difficult evening when Gary Madine was sent off with just 35 minutes on the clock against Brentford on Tuesday night.
But it speaks volumes about Chris Wilder’s Blades side that they never looked like losing, goals from Oliver Norwood and David McGoldrick sealing a hugely impressive result that keeps them just two points adrift of Championship leaders Leeds United.
Sheffield United were clinical at one end and superbly well drilled at the other. John Egan and Jack O’Connell were fantastic against a fearsome Brentford attack but the star of the show was arguably the goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
The Manchester United loanee produced a series of fabulous saves to secure a sixth straight clean sheet – on his 22nd birthday too.
ESPN reports that some of Europe’s biggest clubs are hoping to lure Henderson away from Old Trafford in the summer with Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus and Bayern Munich all keen.
On the back of recent performances, few could argue that Henderson does not have the quality to play for a club like this – or Manchester United for that matter.
