It has been reported by the Spanish publication that the Colombia international had a medical last Thursday and passed it.
The report has claimed that an announcement will be made today after the two clubs have sorted out the final details of the transfer.
Sky Sports reported last week that James was in England to undergo a medical last Thursday.
James will move to Everton from Madrid on a permanent contract, according to the report in AS (print edition, page 12, September 7, 2020).
Good signing for Everton?
James is a brilliant player, and although things have not gone for him as planned at Madrid, the 29-year-old knows Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti well.
The former FC Porto star – who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, worked with the Italian tactician at Madrid and at Bayern Munich.
The 29-year-old is a serial winner, having won league titles with Porto, Madrid and Bayern, and the Champions League twice with Los Blancos.
James – described as “a world-class player” by former Madrid manager Jorge Valdano, as quoted on Sky Sports in August 2020 – scores goals and creates chances, and he would make Everton a better and more potent team in attack.
