Willian will join Arsenal after leaving Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to ESPN Brazil.

It has been reported that the Brazil international – who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger and was described as “world class” by former Arsenal star Paul Merson on Skysports.com in April 2020 – has decided to move to the Gunners on a free transfer.

The 31-year-old, who is out of contract at Chelsea this summer, was approached by Manchester United and Manchester City in recent days, but he has chosen Arsenal due to the length of contract offered by the North London outfit, and the Gunners hope to make an announcement in the coming days, according to the report.

In a separate report in France Football, it has been claimed that Real Madrid and United have approached the former Shakhtar Donetsk star, but the Gunners have the advantage as they have made the best contract offer.

Brilliant signing for Arsenal

Willian is one of the best attack-minded players in the Premier League, and the 31-year-old would be a superb signing for Arsenal.

The Brazilian’s creativity and ability to score goals will make Mikel Arteta’s side a better and more potent side.

Wilian made 29 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for Chelsea this past season, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
