Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has said live on Sky Sports that Heung-Min Son was remarkable against Arsenal in two different positions yesterday.
Son started out on the wing for Spurs yesterday, before he was moved into a central striking position, after Mourinho switched to a five at the back system.
Son was initially tasked with tracking Hector Bellerin as he got forward, and then he had to occupy Arsenal’s central defenders.
And Mourinho was so pleased with how hard Son and Kane worked for his side.
“Working like animals,” he said. “They work amazingly hard when the team didn’t have the ball.
“Harry Kane clearing balls in the box, Sonny for the first 60 minutes as a winger and then a second striker – it is not just about scoring goals and being world class players. It is about being great guys and doing your best for the team.”
Son and Kane were Tottenham’s goalscorers on the day, as they continued their wonderful form this season.
Son’s goal was particularly memorable, as he cut in from the flank and scored from 25 yards with a wonderful shot.
In the second half the pair did a brilliant job of helping Spurs to hold their lead, though.
Tottenham were penned back for much of the second period, as they soaked up pressure, and Kane and Son sacrificed themselves for the team.
The duo both served as extra defenders for Arsenal to get past, as Tottenham collected yet another three points and claimed a clean sheet in the process.
