Ever since Daniel Levy sacked José Mourinho, a number of managers have been linked with the vacancy at Tottenham.
The likes of Brendan Rodgers, Gareth Southgate, Roberto Martinez and Graham Potter have been mentioned.
Another name that has popped up is Hansi Flick.
The 56-year-old has just left his role at Bayern Munich, having guided them to the treble last season.
It was The Telegraph who revealed that the German would be interested in taking over at Spurs.
Flick oversaw a Bundesliga title win, a Champions League final victory over Paris Saint-German, while also lifting the DFB-Pokal cup.
Understandably, Jürgen Klopp was impressed with Bayern Munich and Flick after their stunning efforts.
The German heaped praise on Flick’s work, saying that it would be difficult to write much more history in eight months.
As quoted by ZDF, Klopp said: “I’m not sure how many Bayern coaches have won the treble… Jupp Heynckes and Hansi Flick. Writing more history in eight months would be quite difficult to do!
“Bayern are definitely, at the moment, an absolute – absolute – top team. The squad is sensationally well assembled. They have absolutely world class players in every position and they’re the right age profile too.”
Understandably, Flick’s efforts saw him nominated for many awards.
One of these was the ESPN Manager of the Year award, which was actually won by Klopp.
However, the Liverpool boss didn’t agree with the decision, and apologised to Flick for winning it instead of him.
The Express quote him as saying: “I deserve it more than Hansi Flick? No. What I can say I was not involved in the vote! Sorry Hansi you were probably the right one to get it.”
It’s clear that Klopp is a big fan of Flick, and who wouldn’t be?
The German did wonders at Bayern Munich while playing a fast-paced, scintillating style of football which scooped up a number of major honours.
The Telegraph claim that Tottenham have not yet reciprocated Flick’s interest in the job, which is baffling to us.
If such a successful coach wants the job, Levy would be a fool not to at least sit down with him and pick his brains.
