Speaking to This Is Anfield’s YouTube channel, Harvey Elliott has been waxing-lyrical about Fabio Carvalho after Liverpool confirmed they’ve reached an agreement to bring the Fulham midfielder to Anfield.

The youngster will arrive on Merseyside on July 1st after the expiry of his Fulham deal, and it’s fair to say that many are excited about what he’ll bring to the Reds.

Elliott himself knows Carvalho very well from their time together in Fulham’s academy, and he feels that the Reds have signed a genuinely world-class footballer.

What’s been said?

Elliott spoke highly of Liverpool’s newest signing.

“Fabio is a great kid as well as a great player, so I don’t need to say too much on him. I’m sure he’ll show you very quickly why Liverpool have signed him. He’s a world-class player and I think he’ll bring that flair to this team and the young power in a way. He’s one for the future, and to be able to reunite and play with him will be great,” Elliott said.

Big things coming

If any Liverpool fan thinks that Carvalho won’t be ready to challenge for a first-team spot upon his arrival, they’re sorely mistaken.

The midfielder has been one of the best players in the Championship this season, and he’s more than ready to make the step up to the very top level.

Whether he’ll be utilised as a midfielder or a forward remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, Carvalho will make his mark at Anfield next term.

This is a player with seemingly unlimited potential, and with Elliott already labelling him as world-class, it’s fair to say that big things are coming.
