Writing for BBC Sport, Garth Crooks has been full of praise for Lukasz Fabianski, naming the Polish goalkeeper in his Team of the Week.
Fabianski helped West Ham to a 1-0 win over the weekend to keep the Hammers’ top four dreams alive.
The goalkeeper may be 36 years old, but he’s seemingly improving on a weekly basis, and he made one of the best saves of his career this weekend from Danny Ings.
Indeed, the save was so good that Crooks claimed that it looked almost impossible.

Crooks was blown away by Fabianski’s save.
“It was a world class save. The shot came from Danny Ings on the turn and may have had a slight deflection on its way to goal but that didn’t seem to deter Fabianski, who pushed what seemed like an impossible stop onto the post before the ball rebounded into his arms. The save set up an extraordinary win for the Hammers on what turned out to be an emotional afternoon for everyone at the London Stadium. Little did we know then that Yarmolenko was destined to steal the show but it was Fabianski who set the whole thing up,” Crooks wrote.

We’ve seen some amazing goals from West Ham this season, but this save from Fabianski was as valuable as any strike.
The goalkeeper saw it late, it was spinning away from him and his feet weren’t set properly, but somehow, he still managed to keep the ball out of the goal.
Fabianski has managed to keep Alphonse Areola out of the West Ham team all season long, and saves like this are precisely why.
