A Tottenham Hotspur forward and an ex-Portsmouth loanee feature in our World Football round-up.

Euro 2012 kicks off in a matter of hours, but as we know, football is a global game and continues around the rest of the world too.

Enjoy our regular World 5 video feature, every Tuesday and Friday at 1pm on HITC Sport.

1) Dos Santos scores magical chip

He can’t get a game for Tottenham, but he is regular for his national side. Giovanni Dos Santos remains an enigma. He won’t have done his chances of a move any harm by scoring this superb chip for Mexico against Brazil in a friendly. Mexico won 2-0 with Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez scoring the second.

2) Osvaldo Alonso scores great volley

There won’t be many better goals scored than this in America this year; step forward Cuban midfielder Osvaldo Alonso. He plays for the Seattle Sounders and has the peculiar nickname ‘the Honey Badger’. He scored a sensational volley in midweek in a US Open cup match against Cal FC, and he said it was the best he’d ever hit.

3) D’Alessandro bags free-kick winner

Andres D’Alessandro was once hailed as Argentina’s next big thing. He hasn’t hit anywhere near the heights of compatriot Lionel Messi, but remains a player with outstanding individual talent, as we saw when he joined Portsmouth on loan in 2006. Now 31 he plays for Brazilian club Internacional, and helped them stay unbeaten in the Brazilian championship in midweek, burying this stunning free-kick.

4) Vagner Love earns last minute equaliser

With his red highlights and number 99 shirt, Vagner Love isn’t the sort of player to court attention, no certainly not. He remains a star man at Flamengo, who saw Ronaldinho quit the club and sign with Atletico Mineiro over a wage dispute. The club were on the verge of losing to Ponte Preta in midweek when Love rose to head home an injury time equaliser to draw the game at 2-2.

5) Mphela spares South Africa’s blushes

South Africa’s national side face an uphill battle to qualify for the 2014 World Cup after a slip up in qualifying. The 2010 hosts are beset by bad form, which got worse when they went 1-0 down to minnows Ethiopia. Katlego Mphela stepped up to score a second half equaliser to save them from an embarrassing defeat and ensure the match finished 1-1, but it was one they really expected to win.
