Manchester City colossus Rodri has been speaking to Sky Sports ahead of his side’s trip to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal tomorrow.
The 17-cap Spain international shared some thoughts on Gunners boss Mikel Arteta, having worked with him briefly in Manchester before Arsenal hired him.
Rodri said: “I worked with him for six months, and in this short period, he taught me a lot of things in training about how to position myself in games. I believe his best quality is that he works like an animal in order to help his players improve.”
It’s nice to see the £62.8 million man speak positively about Arteta, especially as the former Everton midfielder has endured a tough campaign.
His Arsenal side currently sit tenth in the Premier League, which is well below where they’d expect themselves to be as one of the traditional big six.

Despite their league position, Arteta is clearly a committed coach who is dedicated to his profession.
That much is evident in Rodri’s comments. The 24-year-old may only have worked with him for six months, but that was enough time for him to see that Arteta cares greatly about developing his players.
Even though things are tough, Arsenal must stick with the Spaniard.

It’s not often a leading Premier League club appoint a ‘wonderkid’ from a managerial perspective.
However, that’s exactly what the 38-year-old is.
Having learned from Guardiola extensively, the Gunners could have one of football’s most precocious tacticians in their dugout in the shape of Arteta.
