Paul Merson has written on SportsKeeda that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp should not include Darwin Nunez in the starting lineup against Everton away from home at Goodison Park in the Premier League this weekend.

Everton will take on Liverpool at home in the Merseyside derby on Saturday afternoon.

Striker Nunez is available for the match after serving his suspension.

Former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit Merson believes that the 23-year-old should not get straight back into the team, and has urged Klopp to continue to keep faith in Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino.

Paul Merson on Darwin Nunez for Liverpool v Everton

Merson wrote on SportsKeeda: “Darwin Nunez is back for this game, but I’d still go with Roberto Firmino.

“I’m not saying you punish Nunez for what he did, but he needs to work hard to get back into the team.

“Firmino was outstanding against Bournemouth, and he did pretty well against Newcastle the other night.”

What should Jurgen Klopp do?

In our opinion, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp should keep faith in Roberto Firmino and should start Darwin Nunez on the substitutes’ bench.

The Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool will be a feisty affair, and we have already seen this season that Nunez can be a bit hot-headed.

After all, the 23-year-old Uruguay international striker was sent off for a headbutt on Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen.

Firmino has done well when he has played this season, and he could bang in a goal or two against Everton.
